Background: An industrial accident on Earth; 25 earth subjects lost their lives due to an explosion in a mine more than 1,000 feet underground.
Activities: I took my hovercraft and observed the explosion site, Upper Big Branch Mine, in Montcoal, West Virginia. The underground explosion of methane gas caused massive damage to structures and earth moving equipment inside the industrial site.
Operations: At the Upper Big Branch Mine, in Montcoal, West Virginia, subjects attempted to rescue the industrial mine workers by boring four large holes to release the toxic methane gas within the industrial site. The rescue team was unsuccessful and they stopped rescue operations claiming twenty-five workers dead, several hospitalized and four still missing in the industrial accident.
Divisions: A group of powerful subjects control the Upper Big Branch Mine and its industrial mining operation in the region called West Virginia { 37.53.24.59 N, 81.07.56.07 W }. The group of subjects call themselves Massey Energy Company of the nearby region called Richmond, Virginia. The group deploys mining operations for profit.
Responsibilities: The mining of the carbon-based raw material known as coal is an on-going activity by the subjects despite their lack of technology to process the material without polluting the Planet Earth. The monitoring and regulating of raw materials on the Planet in this region is the responsibility of the Mine Safety and Health Administration. The group has cited the Massey Energy Company for dozens of safety and health violations before the industrial accident. Despite the monitoring and citing of Massey Energy they continue to operate industrial mining operations.
